Mrs Renfro's Salsa flavours have earned global acclaim.
It all began in 1940. George and Arthurine Renfro had just survived the Great Depression, and ready to strike out on their own, they started selling spices and vinegar out of the little garage of their home on Gould Avenue in Fort Worth, Texas. Spices and vinegar soon grew into chow chow – a flavorful relish popular in the south. Hot sauce and picante sauce followed and when the Renfro Foods business got too big for that little house, they bought a building on Stella Street, and have been there ever since.
Arthurine Renfro hated her name and preferred to be known to all as Mrs. Renfro. As the business grew and the Renfro family decided it was time to rebrand, it made perfect sense to honor the amazing woman who’d helped start it all, and so Mrs Renfro's was born! The company started making salsa in the 1990's by combining unique, gourmet flavours like Peach, Black Bean & Habanero, resulting in the Mrs Renfro's Salsa flavours they’re famous for and we know and love!
The company is still run today by the Renfro kids & grandkids, staying true to the things Mam-Maw and Paw-Paw Renfro cared about!
